At Lehigh Valley Companion Care Homes (LVCCH), holidays are more than just dates on the calendar—they are cherished opportunities to bring our individuals, families, dedicated team, and community together in celebration. This past 4th of July 2026, our home was filled with laughter, delicious food, patriotic decorations, and warm fellowship during our annual 4th of July BBQ Celebration.
An Afternoon of Community, Fun, and Patriotic Celebration
From 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the backyard transformed into a summer festival ground. Decorated in vibrant red, white, and blue, the afternoon offered something for everyone—festive music, shade under mature pine trees, interactive outdoor activities, and an incredible spread of summer favorites.
Events like this highlight LVCCH’s unwavering commitment to person-centered care, community integration, and holistic well-being. For individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), participating in community gatherings fosters independence, self-expression, and strong social connections in a safe, welcoming, and empowering environment.
Highlights from the Celebration
- Delicious Outdoor Barbecue: Our grill masters were hard at work serving hot-off-the-grill meats, paired with home-style sides, cool beverages, and delicious desserts arranged under a grand patriotic canopy.
- Family & Community Connection: Residents, family members, and staff sat together in the shade, sharing stories, enjoying music, and relaxing in the summer breeze.
- Inclusive & Dignified Environment: Every detail was designed to ensure accessible, comfortable, and meaningful participation for all individuals we support.
